Metal is an interface problem

A metal reveal is specified in one drawing, the joinery it borders in another, and the stone it meets in a third. Each is fabricated by a different party to a different tolerance, and the three meet for the first time on site. That is where the gaps appear.

We fabricate the metal, the joinery and the stone in the same facility — so the junction is dry-assembled and corrected in the workshop, before anything is delivered.

Specifying for Singapore

Grade selection matters more in this climate than the drawing usually admits. 304 and 316 stainless behave differently near coastal air, wet areas and pool decks, and the wrong choice does not fail — it marks, pits and stains where nobody expected it to. We will flag a specification that is likely to disappoint in service, before it is cut.

What to send us for a quotation

  • CAD files, or dimensioned drawings if CAD is not available
  • Material and grade, or the environment it will sit in so we can advise
  • Thickness and finish required
  • What the metal meets — joinery, stone, glass or structure
  • Quantity, and whether it repeats across units
  • Delivery and installation dates

What moves the cost

  • Cutting method. Waterjet handles thickness and avoids heat distortion; laser is faster on thin decorative work. The right choice is usually obvious once we see the file.
  • Finish. Brushed, mirror, powder-coated and PVD finishes differ substantially, and mirror finishes show every handling mark.
  • Grade. 316 costs more than 304, and is worth it in the environments where 304 will not last.
  • Junction tolerance. Metal that meets stone or joinery needs tighter control than metal that meets a wall — which is precisely why we dry-assemble it here first.

Can you work from our CAD files?

Yes — we review the file for material grade and fabrication practicality before cutting.

Waterjet or laser — which do we need?

It depends on thickness, material and whether a heat-affected zone matters. Tell us the application and we will say which, and why.

Do you do 304 or 316 stainless?

Both. Which one you should use depends on exposure; we will flag a specification that is likely to mark in service.

Do you install, or supply only?

Both — and where the metal meets our own joinery or stone, it is dry-assembled before it leaves the facility.

Can you match metalwork to existing elements?

Yes. Send photographs and, where possible, a sample; finish matching is done in our own facility.
